The product formulation now called NixT 420/ULTRA was developed by a team with over 5 decades of collective experience in developing commercial/industrial Cleaning and Odor abatement technologies and products.
It is the old story of "Necessity being the Mother of Invention". A family member was undergoing combination cancer therapy (Chemo, Biologics, and Radiation). They were under the care of a very prestigious (world renowned) medical group that made it quite clear that they did not approve of the use of cannabis (because “it had no medical efficacy whatsoever and might interfere with the prescribed treatment protocols and cause harm to the patient" . . . no that is not a joke). At this time, the medical establishment was actively persecuting people wanting to use cannabis to treat their disease conditions. Showing up at a doctor’s office or hospital reeking of marijuana was a very bad idea.
The administered orthodox “approved” treatment for this cancer patient caused severe incapacitating nausea, especially exacerbated by motion, making the 1.5 hour ride to the treatment center “hell on wheels”. So naturally smoking on the way was the answer but showing up for consultation/treatment reeking of weed would have potentially jeopardized the doctor/patient relationship. They literally threatened to withhold care if the patient chose to use cannabis. So it was imperative that the patient absolutely NOT smell like cannabis when they showed up for consults and treatments.
Thus the challenge. Could we come up with an odor elimination formula to completely, safely, and easily eliminate the smell of marijuana? As you know, the smell of the plant or the smoking of it can be extremely strong, very persistent and difficult to eliminate.
To make a long-story short, through a lot of trial and error, and real-world testing . . . the eventual answer was a resounding “yes!”.
A formula platform was invented and perfected that is extremely effective at eradicating the smell of cannabis. If used as directed, you can smoke cannabis or tobacco and when you're done, completely eliminate the smell of smoking in the space around you and on you.
Our family member smoked in the car all the way to the hospital, sprayed NixT, popped a breath mint before entering for their treatment protocol, and then interacted with medical personnel, up-close and personal, and never got busted for smelling like pot.
All in all, a very successful outcome!
For a long time we just gave it away to cancer patients and others concerned about cannabis odor and the negative connotations associated with it. Later, the formula was enhanced to be effective against a wide-spectrum of organic odors.
Word of mouth spread fast, demand increased, and eventually it became clear that people wanted this product. We did a lot of real-world market testing, came up with a user-approved light tracer scent , and decided that commercialization was the only way to get it to the masses.
We formed a company called NixT Corp. and NixT 420/ULTRA was born.
